THE BATTLE ON COLON CANCER is when the cancer starts to grow and this is usually promoted by the diet and lifestyle of the victim. In most cases the victim may not be aware of these developments and may continue to live life

as usual. The third stage is when the cancer starts to spread to other parts of the body. This is commonly the stage where cancer is discovered, as it is associated with a lot of pain and, in some cases, bleeding.

It is hard for one to suspect colon cancer in its early stages. While one may feel some discomfort here and there around the abdomen, most people will not associate these with cancer. The only way one can detect cancer in the early stages is through a medical check-up. Hence having a culture of regular medical check-ups can be helpful.

However, the best is to have a lifestyle that can prevent and suppress the growth of colon cancer in your lifetime. Colon

cancer, like all other cancers, can be influenced by a number of lifestyle factors and we are going to discuss some of them in this booklet. The great news is that eating well and living well greatly lowers one’s risk of getting this cancer and promotes survival to those who are already battling with it.

THE COLON

The large intestine is our disposal unit. Among others, its main role is to eliminate waste from our bodies. It is made up of two parts, the colon and the rectum. The tube is about 1.5 meters long. The rectum is only 12 cm from the last portion of the large intestine. This is where the waste matter is stored until it passes out of the body through the anus. Cancer can develop either in the colon or in the rectum and in some cases, in both areas; this is then known as colorectal cancer. We need a simple healthy lifestyle that brings harmony to our mental, physical, and spiritual health to win the battle against colon cancer.
